Title: "Lion of Breakthrough - Setting Captives Free"
Medium: Acrylic on Canvas 40 x 50 cm
Printed on Flag 1m x 1.5m with flexi carbon fibre dowel
Description: This dynamic acrylic painting captures the powerful image of a lion mid-leap, its vibrant, colourful mane flowing with the energy of liberation and triumph. The lion, symbolic of courage and authority, leaps from the left side of the canvas, On the right side, darkness looms, symbolising the bondage and despair from which the lion breaks into.
As the lion charges forward into the darkness, it brings with it a radiant burst of light, breaking through the shadows and illuminating the path. which is bathed in bright orange hues filled with flowers and butterflies, representing new life, freedom, and divine transformation.
Behind the lion, the bright landscape flourishes, reflecting the message of Isaiah 61:1, "He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners." The lion embodies this message, setting captives free and bringing hope and deliverance. This powerful imagery brings to mind the words of Reinhard Bonnke: "Plundering hell to populate heaven."
"Lion of Light" is a vivid testament to the victory of Christ over darkness, capturing the essence of divine rescue and the promise of new beginnings. It offers a visual declaration of faith, courage, and the boundless possibilities of divine transformation to all who behold it.
A pastor prayed over a cancer patient and gifted him this picture. After 2 weeks, his multiple cancers were all gone! Hallelujah for the miraculous healing by the goodness and mercies of almighty God!
Reflection:
Is there an area of darkness that you want to see God’s victory, either for yourself or for someone else? Visualise that situation bursting with victory.
Consider the courage displayed by the lion as it breaks through darkness. Is there a challenge you are facing that you could invite the spirit of courage and faith in, trusting in God to provide the breakthrough?
How could we better share our stories of victories, hope and courage with the wider community?
